hrough the implementation of a formal approach into my own process of creating, I seek to gain an understanding of a particular language circulating within contemporary graphic design. A formal project such as my own may seem to be inconsequential because of its focus being purely aesthetic. However it can be seen throughout many established design practices that formal projects can exist as a legitimate explorations in their own right. But the question remains, can these purely formal projects articulate value or complexity?
By continuously making and reflecting on work, as well as critiquing the work around me, I explore the development of my own formal language within graphic design and how this fits into the context of [the formal quality of] contemporary graphic design.
