Why study Russian?
Studies in the Russian programme will be of great benefit to students wanting to specialise in a broad number of disciplines: human and social sciences, science and management, law and tourism. Courses can be divided into two basic categories: those devoted to Russian language acquisition, and those devoted to studying the culture, history, and society of Russia and the former Soviet Union. The courses in this second area are taught entirely in English and allow students to study a wide range of Russian culture and society that include literature, film, painting, dance and music. They are a good complement to other studies in European and Eaurasian history and culture.
Those who major in Russian will find themselves well-equipped for positions in diplomatic service, public service, law and accounting, journalism, travel and tourism, as well as the traditional career of teaching.
